You can visit many sights in New Zealand, see ever changing flora, and trees that can only be described as magical. Head to central Otago and visit the beautiful town of Wanaka and you might hear tourists inquiring about “The famous tree.” A beautiful willow that millions gawk over because of its resilience and location. This long ago fence post turned tree is a perfect example brilliance in nature. Tour around the lake and you’ll easily be able to spot the general location of this lone willow. Look for the gaggles of people standing on the shoreline seemingly out of place, as if to be a comical juxtaposition with the beauty that surrounds them. It requires patience and odd sleeping patterns (or an 8-month-old child whose been ripped from the confines of a Northern Hemisphere sleep cycle) to capture this landmark with precision and peace. Here are some of the images I was able to create.
